A Journey I would never forget

This Thanksgiving vacations my family and I, had one of the grates vacations. My parents keep as a surprise the place we were traveling, until Saturday morning that my parents tell my brothers and me that we were traveling to San Diego. We got very excited and happy, until they tell us that it will take two whole days to get to San Diego. I was little frustrated by knowing that I will be sited in the car two whole days, but having the certainty that the finish line will be full of activities and new experiences push me to endure as many days sited in a car.

At Saturday my dad drove the whole day, since 7 am until 10 pm and we get to a town called Lordsburg, located in Nuevo Mexico. We found a hotel called “Comfort Inn” and we spend the night there. The next morning we wake up at 10 am but in that location we needed to reduce one hour. As a summery, we woke up at 9 am but in Torreon it was 10 am. We gadder all of our items as well as our luggage and continue the trip to San Diego.

At San Diego my aunt gave us hosting in her house. When you get to San Diego you need to take another hour from the clock; meaning that 2 pm in San Diego would be 4 pm at Torreon. This cause a lot of hunger for my family and I, but when we get to my aunt house they were preparing delicious grilled beef. Suddenly it came to my mind, what kind of welcome we were receiving and I was very happy. We ate tacos with grilled beef and guacamole and ate grilled beef with some lemon and salt. We had a great time talking and then my brothers, my cousin and I played football on the yard; it was tough game.

My aunt husband is a navy firefighter in an aircraft carriers, therefore he took us on a tur to his military base in San Diego, unfortunately his ship was been in reparation because a few months ago he had a mission on the ocean, taking care of United Sates oils wells, the mission lasted 9 months. Therefore we could not enter into his ship, but we when to Midway, an old aircraft carrier that fought in the Second World War and in Iraq war. This ship had many old airplanes, helicopters and had tors inside the ship. It was a great experience.

In San Diego we went to a go kart track called “K1 speed”, this go karts go really fast. When you were racing you could fill the cold air crashing your arms, neck and chest, as well as the adrenalin traveling through all your body. Even though, you could not turn around your head so much because you have a helmet, you filled that you were moving as fast as flash. The next day we when to see some nature and science museums. I like both of them but the science museum was more enjoyable because you could interact with the experiments and learn from making the things. After this we when to Midway again because we didn’t finish seeing all the ship, is a huge ship. Then we went to play laser tag, which is a game that consist of winning the other team by shooting them with a laser gun on an armor, located at their chest. The higher the number of persons you kill the higher your score.

The next day we say good bye to my aunt and her family and travel to Anaheim, were Disney land is located. It was a 4 hours trip because of the traffic but when we get to the park it was amazing. I had only go to Disney land once, when I was 9 years old but this time I was 15 and I did enjoy more thee games. Fortunately my little brother was high enough to ride all the roller coaster and attractions with us.

We spend 3 Days at Disney land and we get a 50% discount on the tickets because we bought the tickets at San Diego’s navy base, located at Coronado Island. Unfortunately we can’t live at Disney land so we needed to get back to Torreon.

This thanksgiving vacations I had one of the most outstanding, wonderful, joyful, frustrated, tired; and full of new experiences, knowledge and feeling that I would never forget. I thank God for giving me the opportunity to make this journey with my family and that he took care of us during all the journey.
